Top 5 series banner

Hi everyone!

We have another post for the Top 5 Series that Mandy from Devouring Books began back in October and in which she continues now. This is a series where I will need to list five books that either I’ve read or want to read based on a given theme each week.

RULES:

  • Share your top 5 books of the current topic – these can be books that you want to read, have read and loved, have read and hated, you can do it any way you want.
  • Tag the original post
  • Tag 5 people *I’m tagging everyone who would like to do this*

Today, the theme is Books inspired by Mythology. I love books that talk about mythology because I’m into reading this kind of stuff, and Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan was one of the books that made me a bookworm today. A little fact, if ever I didn’t share it yet, The Sea of Monster was the first book that I bought using my own money – from my school allowances.

Anyway, let’s see what the books that I picked from my TBR for this week’s theme are!

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

Many of my friends have shelved this on Goodreads, and most of them give this high rating, so I checked its description, and oh, it’s inspired by a Greek story – The Trojan War. I want to read this one soon!

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

I know I have this on my TBR for too long, and just this year, I received a copy of it from my #SecretBookishTita. Now, I’ve read from my friend’s reviews that it references Greek mythology in terms of Gods and war concepts, so okay. Count me in and let me see how and why they said it.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt

This is interesting to read based on its description, and it is based on Dionysus and the Bacchanalia.

Abandon by Meg Cabot

I’ve seen Meg Cabot’s work anywhere, but I still haven’t tried any of her books. But, I want to read this book, which is said to be inspired by Hades and Persephone.

Hounded by Kevin Hearne

This book is inspired by Celtic mythology, and well, I’m intrigued as to how the story will go.

  1. I was a huge fan of Meg Cabot as a kid! I was obsessed with The Princess Diaries. That cover for Abandon is gorgeous.
Also I love that Rick Riordan made you a bookworm and has helped Greek mythology become more popular! He has so many different series now. I should really find time to read them bc they’re so good
